Terms of Service

1. Who we are
Serenada ("we", "us") creates original, personalised songs from information you give us. Our website is getserenada.com. You can reach us at hello@getserenada.com.
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record for every purchase: Dodo Payments sells the order to you, takes your payment, works out and pays any sales tax, VAT or GST, sends your receipt, and issues refunds. Your payment is made to Dodo Payments, and its terms also apply to the transaction.
Prices are shown on getserenada.com before you pay and include tax where it applies, so you pay exactly the price shown. They are charged in the currency shown: US dollars, or Indian rupees. Rupee prices are shown only to visitors in India (we check both your connection and your device's time zone); a rupee checkout has an Indian billing address and takes UPI or a card. If a rupee payment doesn't go through (for example, with a card from abroad), you can pay in US dollars instead. Serenada Plus is charged in US dollars everywhere.
2. What you are buying
When you place an order, you are buying an original song created from the story you tell us, together with a video and a private web page where both can be played and downloaded (the song as an MP3, the video as an MP4). The song is performed by an AI singer in the voice style you choose.
The video is made from your photographs, set to the song. You can add up to 100; we pick the best for the length of your song, and you can swap any of them before the video is made. If you add no photographs, you still get the song, and the video is a simple one on a plain card, with the words shown as they are sung when we can time them and you have chosen to show them.
Each song is generated fresh, so the voice matches the style you picked but is not identical to any example you heard on our site. Voice examples show the kind of voice, not the exact performance you will receive.
Every song is generated using artificial intelligence. It is not performed by a human musician, and it is not a recording of an existing song.
3. What we will not do
We do not create covers, remixes, sound-alikes or "in the style of" versions of existing songs or recording artists. We do not use the names of real musicians in lyrics or prompts. Every song we deliver is a new work.
If you ask for any of these things, we will decline and you may still be charged for work already carried out.
4. Your account and your email address
You do not need to create an account. We use the email address you provide at checkout to send you your song and to contact you about your order: your order link; when your lyrics are ready, and a reminder 2 days and 7 days after payment if they are still waiting (then no more); when your song is ready (and when your video is, if it took longer than usual); two short emails after your song is ready reminding you to download and keep it, about 2 hours and about a day later, each with a one-click way to stop them; one email three days later asking how they reacted, if you haven't already told us; and, if a refund can't be paid straight away, one email saying “Your refund is on its way”. Also the order links you ask for, the 4-digit code for your song's page if someone taps “Forgot code?” on it (at most 3 an hour), and date reminders only if you save dates. No marketing. Your private links are how you come back to your order; anyone you forward them to can open them. Private links are long random addresses that cannot practically be guessed, and they are kept out of search engines. You may also lock your song's page with a 4-digit code of your choice.
5. What you must promise us
By placing an order, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- The information, recordings and photographs you upload are yours to use, or you have permission from the people in them.
- Any audio you record or upload is you speaking, or you have permission from everyone who speaks in it.
- Your content does not contain anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or intended to impersonate or defame another person.
- You will not use Serenada to create content about a person who has asked you not to, or to harass anyone.
We may refuse or cancel any order that breaches these terms, and we may report unlawful content to the authorities.
6. Who owns what, and how you may use your song
What you give us stays yours. Your words, your story, your recordings and your photos belong to you. You give us only a limited permission to use them to make your order — to turn your recording into text, write your song from it, and place your photos in your video — and for nothing else. We delete them 7 days after your song is delivered (section 11).
The lyrics. We write your lyrics with Anthropic's models. We give you whatever rights we have in them, as far as the law allows.
The music. The music and the singing are made with ElevenLabs' music model. ElevenLabs' own terms decide what may be done with it, and we can pass on no more than they allow: they allow online and offline use, except in film, TV, radio and games, and they don't allow reselling it. So, once your order is delivered, you may keep, play, download, copy and share your song and its video; give them as a gift; post them on social media and messaging apps (for example Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and WhatsApp); and play them at private or public events, such as a wedding or a party. You may make a song for someone else and give it to them; they may use it in the same ways.
You may not sell it. That means you may not sell, license or sublicense the song, its lyrics or its video; put them on music streaming or download services; register them with a content-identification system (such as YouTube Content ID); use them to advertise a product, service or business (except as the next paragraph allows); or use them in film, TV, radio or games. We do not claim any share of a platform's ordinary payments for a post you make under this section.
Creators who share Serenada. If you share Serenada through a creator link under our Creator Terms, you may also post a Serenada song made by you or for you, and its video, on your own social media accounts to promote Serenada, with your link. That is the only advertising this section allows. It does not cover promoting any other product, service or business; paid ads or boosted posts (paying a platform to show or boost the post) without our written OK; or film, TV, radio or games. Everything else in this section still applies.
Songs made with AI may not be protected by copyright in every country, so we cannot promise that the law would let you stop someone else from copying yours.
We keep the right to use anonymised, non-identifying information about orders to improve the service. We will never use your song, its video or your photographs in our marketing unless you agree, by ticking “May we share your song as an example?” on your order page. It is off unless you tick it, and you can untick it any time; we keep your answer and its date. We never use your recording or your story in marketing, and we never share a reply or a video you send us without asking you first.
7. Your recording, photographs and story
If you tell us your story by speaking rather than typing, we transcribe that recording to write the lyrics. You can also type, or do both.
Your recording, photographs and story are stored encrypted and used for one purpose only: creating your song and its video. They are deleted 7 days after your song is delivered. Nobody at Serenada listens to your recording or opens your photographs or story — only the automated steps that make your song and video use them, unless you ask us for help and send us your link. We do not use them to train models, we do not use them for other customers, and we share them only with the services that make the song and video (see the Privacy Policy).
Photographs can be JPEG, PNG, HEIC (from an iPhone), WebP or GIF. The location and camera details inside each one are removed before it is kept. If the video maker can't read one of your photographs, the nearest readable photograph in your order is shown in its place, so your video is still made.
8. Revisions, redos and re-renders
- No music or video is made until you pay.
- You read and approve the lyrics before any music is made. You see the memories we found and the draft lyrics first.
- You get up to three free lyric changes: swap memories, change the length, or tell us what to change in your own words. Beside each change you can add “Anything you'd like different?”; what you write is used for that change. A change is one of the three however many things it includes.
- Each version (a take of your song) is one recording of the lyrics you approved. Approving starts the music: two versions to choose from. If neither is right, one free redo gives you two more — in a new voice or style if you like — and you keep all four. The redo keeps the words you approved. You can add a note about how it should sound; it guides the music only, and never changes the words. After the redo, the song is not made again.
- Full refund any time until you approve the lyrics. Refunds end when you approve the lyrics, except for a broken song: if a song is ever broken — cut off, in the wrong language, or with words missing — we fix it or refund in full. Refunds go back to the card, wallet or UPI account you paid with, in the currency you paid in. Once a refund is sent, how soon it shows in your account depends on your bank (UPI is usually quickest). The Refund Policy has the details.
- The photo video: Change the photos as often as you like until the video is made. After that, 3 free remakes in the first 7 days. Choosing another version to share also remakes the video; that doesn't count as one of the three, up to four times per order. After 7 days your photographs are deleted and the video can't be made again.
9. Gifts and free links
“Gift a song for someone else to make” is a song you give someone else to make: they get a private link, tell us about someone they love, and pay nothing. It costs the same as a song and is never discounted. One link makes one song, it lasts 12 months from the day you buy it, and it can't be combined with another offer. Making the song from it needs no payment at all. The link appears on your order page as soon as you pay; anyone who has it can use it, so send it only to the person it is for.
Free-song and family links. We sometimes give out a link that makes a song for free. It works like a gift: one whole song, with the same lyric changes, versions, redo and video, and it can't be combined with a second song, a gift or a discount code. A free-song link makes one song and lasts 7 days. A family link gives a set number of songs in total, one per email address, until the end date it came with; once it is full or has ended, it stops working. We can switch off a link that hasn't been used yet. As nothing was paid, there is nothing to refund, but a broken song is still fixed.
10. Delivery
Lyrics are usually ready within minutes of payment. The song is usually ready within minutes of you approving the lyrics. These are estimates, not guarantees. Occasionally a step fails or a queue is busy; if your order is materially delayed, email us.
11. How long we keep your song
Your private song page stays live for a year from delivery. After that, the video is removed and the audio file is kept. Download your song and keep your own copy. We are not a storage service and we cannot guarantee indefinite availability.
Your recording, your photographs and your story are deleted 7 days after delivery, because we no longer need them once the song and the video exist. The video, which shows your photographs, stays on your page for the year so you can download it.
You can remove everything sooner: “Delete everything now” on your order page deletes your song, video, lyrics, files and private page for good, 10 minutes after you confirm. In those 10 minutes you can undo it; after that it can't be undone. It doesn't change what you paid or any refund you are owed.
12. Their dates
On your private dates page you can save the days of the people you love, and we'll email you a reminder 7 days and 2 days before each one. It is free, optional, and used for nothing else. Every reminder has a link to stop reminders, for one date or all of them, and you can delete all your dates at any time. Reminders depend on email getting through, so please don't rely on them alone for a day that matters.
13. Nothing is unlimited
Every plan has the limits described on the page at the time of purchase. Where a plan includes a number of songs per month, unused songs do not carry over.
Serenada Plus renews monthly until you cancel. Serenada Plus is 8 songs per billing month, made within that month; unused songs don't roll over. A song you start within the month (once you've sent your story) can be finished later. Cancel any time with "Manage or cancel your plan", a link on your order page and in every Plus email. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you can still make the month's remaining songs until it ends. No refund for a month in which you've made a song; a full refund if you cancel before making any song that month — and that month then ends.
14. Availability and things going wrong
We will try to keep Serenada available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We depend on third-party providers, and their outages affect us.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Serenada is limited to the amount you paid for the order concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including disappointment, missed occasions, or loss of data you did not keep a copy of.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. The version published on getserenada.com when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Delhi have jurisdiction, except where the consumer protection law of your own country gives you rights that cannot be removed by agreement.
